Differential driver for an Opto-isolator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26LV31E

hello,

i want to control an drive amplifier.

i ve made an pcb with an 26LS31 but the ic doesnt work because the amplifier input is opto isolated. sadly i noticed this too late.

i attached the drive ampifier input circuit.

My Question:

Have ti an ic with the same pinout but differential ttl signal?

Which ic is the right one?

thx a lot

  • Tee,

If you positively need a pin to pin compatible device then try AM26LV31E
It is designed for 3.3V operation therefore running at 5V should increase the output voltage by about 1.7V
I have no data for running at the elevated voltage other than the absolute maximum voltage is 6V in the data sheet.

What are you doing with the other three channels?
  • Tee,

The 26LS31 has differential TTL outputs.  You should look at the output waveform and verify it is working as you intended.  There may be nothing wrong with the schematic.

    Regards,
