The datasheet is not particularly clear, but I am curious if it would be possible to feed an external clock in to the XTAL1 (pin 30), or does the TUSB2046B require its own clock as it seems in the datasheet.

I have other 6MHZ devices in my project, and consolidating down to clock generator would save on overall BOM and cost later in development.

Hello Shawn,

You can use a 6-MHz oscillator by connecting the output to the XTAL1 pin and leaving the XTAL2 pin open. (The oscillator TTL output must not exceed 3.6 V.)

Thanks Joel. I actually did notice that is mentioned in the pin description list in the datasheet, but no mention in the clock section thereof, which I was reading over and over trying to figure that part out.
