DP83867 - WoL and Magnetics

Hi,

We intend to use the DP83867 but have the following questions which are not discussed in the datasheet.

1. WoL Feature

The RevC Datasheet states: "Wake on LAN provides a mechanism for bringing the DP83867 out of a low-power state using a special Ethernet
packet..."

Please specify which of the 4 available low-power modes can be utilized together with WoL.

2. Magnetics

We need a transformer which a PCMCIA form factor. Pulse has a variety of PCMCIA-size 1Gb transformers but which one would be suitable for the DP83867?

The DP83867 is not actually in one of the defined low power modes. It is active, but not passing packets until it receives the magic packet.

I am not familiar with the transformers offered by Pulse in the PCMCIA format. I will take a look at these.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the clarification regarding the WoL mode.

In this case I would need to know how to put the DP83867 in WoL mode so it does not pass packets anymore, and what the expected power consumption in WoL mode would be.
