DP83867 - Synchronized Clock Output

Hi,

I would like to know if the Synchronized clock output on the DP83867 is equivalent to the SyncE or Synchronized Ethernet standard clock. Assuming that several of the DP83867 would be connected to a SyncE enabled network structure, would all devices reproduce the frequency of the clock master?

Fred,

The clock output can be configured to provide a clock based on the clock recovered from the receive data. In that sense, the clock will be synchronous to the master clock in the link partner. The clock output does not provide support for other ITU characteristics like holdover however.
