My product is mini-docking as below function block.

Q：If DP device is connecting with product (4 lane communication), then USB3.0 connect it.

Does the system can auto-change to status2？

If yes, what is HD3SS460’s detect function？

Hello,

The TUSB321 does not support alternate mode, you can use the TPS65982 instead, which supports alternate mode and will bring PD capabilities to the application. Please refer to the Type-C dock reference design so you can see how can be implemented on your design.

If we use TUSB321 + HD3SS460 only require to implement status2 this function. (Dp→2lane, USB3.0→2lane)
The HD3SS460 is set by external resistance, the product don’t require PD function.
Is it possible？

Hello Hugo,

The TUSB321 will be able to configure the HD3SS460 according to the cable orientation, the rest of the configuration (DP 4lanes or USB3 2lanes + DP 2 Lanes). If this is OK for you, then the TUSB321/TUSB322 is your right option.

Thanks for your support.
Because I only use TUSB321 + HD3SS460 on system.
The SBU, D+/-,DP, AUX, HPD are both bypass, not like TPS65982 can process code.
Dose this application can DP and USB signal at the same time？

Hello Kawai-san,

Exactly, the signals you mentioned are bypass. The application can support DP & USB at the same time, however it depends on a manual configuraton of the HD3SS460, since the TUSB321 will handle the TypeC cable orientation but not the alternate mode.
