dp83865: CRC error in packets received when configured for PHY loopback mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83865

Hi Support,

We use your PHY dp83865 in one of our boards, in RGMII 1000Mbps mode. I see that when testing for the PHY loopback mode, in some of the received packets, the CRC bytes (the last four bytes of the Ethernet packet) is corrupted. I verify this by checking the Receive buffer at the MAC end. We could eliminate any issues with the MAC itself, becasue, if we use MAC loopback (thereby eliminating PHY), no errors are seen. Could you shed some light into what might be causing this?

We are configuring the PHY in the 3COM mode. Is there any setting/criteria that needs to be taken care of when using the PHY in 3COM mode? Are there any guidelines with respect to this?

Thanks,

Vineetha
