Hi All,

I would liketo use TPD4S014 without MCU supervision. So I want to connect ACK output directly to EN input.

Is it gonna work? Please explain. See attached picture as the explanation.

Hi Andrei,

I don't see why this would not work. But, I also do not see what functionality it will add. When there is under voltage or over voltage, the VBUS switch disables regardless of the state of /EN. I recommend tying /EN to ground and leave /ACK not connected.

Hi Guy,

Thank you for response. I still would like to use TPD4S014 VBUS protection functions. So when VBUS is ok and ACK goes down this will enable VOUT. On other side I will also sense ACK with MCU for my application to detect the charge state but not controlling it. My device is battery powered. So it could be over discharged. In this case my VCC_3.3V will disappear. And if charger then be connected what will happen? If my system be able to re-charge? In this state ACK and EN will floating with no voltage.

Hi Andrei,

If /EN is tied to ground, then it should charge with a charger connected. This should also be the case with /ACK tied to /EN as you describe it.
