PHY loopback mode on dp83865PHY @ 1000Mbps

Hi TI Support,

I have the following doubts regarding the PHY loopback mode in the PHY. I use the PHY loopback mode @ RGMII 1000Mbps configuration.

- In this mode, is it still valid to poll for the "link up" as indicated in the bit #2 of LINK_AN register?

- How does the PHY recognize the "Link up"?

- What signals does the PHY expect from the MAC for the link to be up? Is it just the TXCLK of 125MHz?

- How does the PHY generate the RXCLK in the PHY loopback mode? (I remember reading from the datasheet that RXCLK is recovered from the data received from MAC - Is this true for loopback mode as well?)

Regards,
