TPS65982/Unique Address Interface

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65982

Hi Team,

The "Source Capabilities" can be config by "TPS65982 Configuration Tool", and also, it can be set by Register 0x32 through "Unique Address Interface ". So i'm confuseed, what is the difference?

Thanks,

Best Regards

  • When creating your initial binary image with the TPS6598X Configuration Tool (this replaced the TPS65982 Configuration Tool) you can configure your source capabilities. This will be a Flash (static) edit so each time the TPS65982 is rebooted these Source Capabilities will remain constant.

After you already have a binary image flashed onto the TPS65982, you may dynamically change the source capabilities via the I2C Host Interface, the "Unique Address Interface" you mentioned. This will be a RAM (dynamic) edit so each time the TPS65982 is rebooted it will default back to the Source Capabilities defined in your Flash image.

    Regards,
