TUSB551 and TUSB501/ VCM-RX

Hi Team,

I understood TUSB551 is 4th-generation(1.8V) USB3.0 redriver and TUSB501 is 3rd generation(3.3V) of it.
I found the difference specification of "Common-mode voltage bias in the receiver (DC)" between TUSB551 and TUSB501.

- TUSB551: 0V (TYP)
- TUSB501: 3.3V (TYP)

It seems TUSB551 has no bias at receiver side although TUSB501 has bias.
Could you tell me the background of the difference?
My customer wants to know it.

Is there 2ch(1 lane) USB3.0 redriver that has no bias at receiver side as TUSB551?
I confirmed the following devices have bias at receiver side.
- SN65LVPE512
- SN65LVPE502A

Hello Yaita-san,

There is no such device, only the TUSB551 due to its ultra low power specs, I highly recommend this device since its a newer technology, low power consumption and versatility (thank to its small package).
