Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

Because our end customer needs the MAX3243CPWR official statement from TI to confirm on the altitude capability issue

Application: telecommunication devices.

End customer’s request:

They would like to check about if there are any limitations about the height during application. As they want to use the products at around 3000m high.

We have found this application note on temperature rising at document SPRA953B (1.5 Altitude).

Could you please check if they want to use MAX3243CPWR at around 3000m high is OK?

If we use at 0 to 70, we don't need care 3000m high?

We are looking into three issues, temperature, atmospheric pressure, and space radiation.
It will take a couple days.

• One of the issues you get is single event effects from radiation. Commercial parts are not tested for this.

• Large concerns from terrestrial neutron SEE effects. Pilots are limited on how much flight time they get due to increased levels of radiation, a function of altitude. These neutrons can cause spallations in silicon and cause parts to latchup or upset. 10,000 feet is not too bad, but launch vehicles, and aircraft have many requirements.
