TLK110 Power Up Timing clarification

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK110

Hello,

Datasheet of TLK110, Chapt. 9.7.1 shows a min time of 100ms and a typ. value of 270ms for t1 (Power Up), but no maximum time is given.

Which maximum delay time should be implemented in the initialization software to guarantee a safe startup?

Which timing behaviour can be expected if a second TLK110 is clocked from CLK_OUT of another TLK110?

Thanks in advance!

Moritz

  • Hi Moritz,

The HW pins can be used in normal operation any time after 270ms.

In the TLK110, the reference clock must be present and stable before power up or RESET is asserted.  See figure 9-2 in the datasheet.

If TLK110 #2 gets its reference clock from the CLK_OUT of TLK110 #1, RESET pin must be pulsed on PHY#2 no sooner than 1us after CLK_OUT is present.

    Best Regards,
