DS100MB203 unused channel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100MB203

Dear Technical Suppot Team

I have a question about DS100MB203 .

How should I connect unused channel like following?

I think that floating is OK for S_OUTB0+ and S_OUTB0-, but should I connect GND for S_INB0+ and S_INB0-?

Best Regards,

y.i

  • Hi y.i,

You can leave the unused inputs floating, since the signal detect will automatically mute the output of the channel when no signal is detected. Similarly, the unused outpus can be floating as well. You can also power down unused channels to reduce power consumption (see datasheet excerpt below).

    Regards,

    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

    Thank you for your answer.
Is it possible to set PWDN Channels with pin mode?

    Best Regards,
    y.i
  • Hi y.i,

In pin mode you can power down all channels with the active-high RESET pin (a.k.a. PWDN, pin 52). There is not a way, unfortunately, to power down individual channels in pin mode. That must be done in SMBus slave mode.

    Best regards,
    Casey
