Hello - i am designing a schematic and want to make sure i have the RESET pin configured in an operation manner. Would this configuration work to properly reset the device and enable normal operation? Also, do i need to connect any of the PWRON or OVRCUR pins if i do not intend to draw any power from the device (only using an external power supply)?

Hello Tyler,

The TUSB2046B requires a power-on reset pulse, this can be done with a simple RC circuit (15K pull-up resistor and 1 uF cap). Please, take a look at the attached reference design.

If you don't want to use the Power Switching you have to use pull-ups resistors on the OVRCUR/ inputs and left PWRON/ outputs unconnected.

Thank you Joel - i understand the power switching now. I still have a question about the reset. Does this still require a physical switch that needs to be pressed? Is there another circuit that controls that switch?
