Is the SN75LVCP601 the best choice for the eSATA redrivers or is there a better recommendation from TI?

Hi,

I have a customer who is looking for is a SATA re-driver that can drive an eSATA port.  The customer's current design has 4 SATA connections coming from a uProcessor to 3 eSATA connectors as well as a one CFast connector.  They have built a board up and this arrangement doesn’t quite make it for SATA3 speeds which are 6Gbps and the customer believes a re-driver is needed. Is the SN75LVCP601 the best choice or is there a better recommendation we should be considering?

Thanks,

PSB

  • Hi,

The best device depends on your application.
    Our group has three devices:
SN75LVCP601 is a two channel 6Gbps SATA redriver, commercial range temperature.
SN75LVCP600 is a single channel 6Gbps SATA redriver, commercial range temperature.
SN75LVCP600s is a single channel 6Gbps SATA redriver, industrial range temperature.

Besides, High speed interface has SATA redrivers too.

    Regards
  • Depending on what is the most important criteria (pcb space, cost, etc) you may consider the DS100BRxxx.  Since you are designing for 3 channels, the 4-channel DS100BR410 might be preferred, otherwise, 2 of the SN75LVCP601s or DS100BR111s would be needed.  Here's a comparison:
