TPS65982 charge with Dell XPS13 thunderbolt3 issue

Dear Sir

I tested the EVM "TI USB type-C DockTIDA-00630" with Dell XPS13 9350 laptop. And I connect it to XPS13's thunderbolt3 port.

The charge function is very unstable. It will charge for a while and then disconnect and then reconnect repeatedly.

Is this the firmware issue or anything else?

Hello Anderson,

Since the release of the EVM, the firmware has changed a few times. Please download the latest TPS6598X-Config tool, generate your required image, flash and retest.

Please let me know if the issue persists after you have done the above.

I download the utility and create a FW file. It doesn't works. I attache the json file. could you please check the setting?config82_v1.7.0.json.zip

I used config tool 1.12 to create a new FW and tried a lot. I found something wrong (using Dell XPS13 and already upgrade to the latest XPS13 firmware and thunderbolt3 FW from dell's website).

1. Turn off the PD function, the USB and displayport signal works well.

2. Remove the USB HUB IC, the PD charging function works well.

3. Turn on the USB and PD function at the same time, it began to disconnect and then reconnect repeatedly.
