Operation of TUSB3410 after reset

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB3410

Hi ALL,

Please advise about TUSB3410 and TUSBWINVCP operation.
The following operation is normal operation ?

1. TUSB3410 w/o EEPROM communicates with TUSBWINVCP on Windows PC.
2. RESET pin of TUSB3410 is asserted. Vcc remains 3.3V.
3. USB communication do not start..

If I serialize TUSB3410, this communication will restart ?

KAZU

  • Hello KAZU,

A TUSB3410 w/o EEPROM will download firmware from the Windows PC, then the VCP driver will enumerate the TUSB3410 as a VCP device.  If a hard reset (pulse on the RESET/ pin of the TUSB3410) is applied, the TUSB3410 will have to download the firmware from the host again.   I would recommend eliminating step #2 below.  Once the TUSB3410 has downloaded the firmware, it should be enumerated as a VCP device without any resets.

    1. TUSB3410 w/o EEPROM communicates with TUSBWINVCP on Windows PC.
    2. RESET pin of TUSB3410 is asserted. Vcc remains 3.3V.
    3. USB communication do not start..
