DS90UB913A-CXEVM LVCMOS input module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB913A-CXEVM

Is there an off the shelf module that can be connected to the DS90UB913A-CXEVM LVCMOS input header to transmit the video data to test out the FPD-Link III interface?

  • Hi Tom,

Are you looking for video data to output from 914A side? 913A EVM and 914A EVM can be connected together and will successfully LOCK to test out FPD-Link III Interface. The data being sent over the link is randomized and similar to what is sent in customer applications (with a camera on 913A side and processor on 914A side). Also, for true test of functionality you can set these EVM's to operate in BIST mode which is meant to mimic real-life customer operation.

In order to send and receive REAL video data (and not just patterns generated in BIST mode, etc.), you will need an OV10635 Imager board from Omnivison to connect to the 913A EVM ( you will also need to solder the appropriate header, JP10, on the board; it is DNP on the EVM's). On the 914A side, you will need to connect a Vayu processor board to crunch the data and output to a screen. You will also need to solder a header (JP7) on the 914A EVM. Software will also be needed with Vayu board. The setup details for this system can be found at this link:

The latter option is complicated and expensive for the customer. I suggest simply using two EVM's in tandem with randomized data pattern in default mode or operating in BIST mode.
