Hi,

I am using TUSB1310A transciever IC in my board. This is a Add on Board and is connected through a HSMC Connector to the host board having FPGA.

I was going through TUSB1310 implementation guide (SLLU123). For the PIPE Connection it is given that "External source series termination resistors are not required if the interface is kept to less than two inches in length with an impedance of 50 Ω ±10%." Below are the queries regarding this:

1) I am not sure of the length of signals on host board, so i should keep series resistors..right ?

2) For which signals should i keep series resistors ?

3) What will be the location of these series resistors on board?

1) Yes, It's correct.
2) For all the PIPE interface
3) Please place the resistors near to the connector.

Hi Gerardo,

Thanks for the reply. Furthermore...

1) Do we need to keep all resistors near the Connector only?? as series resistors are kept near the source. So for TX signals, the transceiver will be the source while for RX signals it will be load /destination.

2) We are considering below PIPE signals for which we need to keep series resistors, do any other signals(except below signals) of PIPE interface should have series resistor ?
