Hello,
I have a question about TCA8418E.
I am reading SCPS222C.
"8.6.2 Control Register and Command Byte" in the page-25.
Table-9 describes that 0x00 and 0x2F are "Reserved".
Can I do writing and reading in these Reserved addresses?
Regards,
Daisuke

Hi Daisuke-san,
You cannot read/write to the "Reserved" registers on TCA8418E.
Thanks,
Rajan
Hi Daisuke,
When I read the TCA8418e register 0x00, I read back 0xC5.
You can always write to some register and read back the same value. Can you give me an idea of how you are trying to use the TCA8418e device?
Thanks,
Rajan
Hello Rajan,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm sorry. I'm confused.
You said that
"You cannot read/write to the "Reserved" registers on TCA8418E."
If register 0x00 always read back 0xC5, can I use register 0x00?
(Is the value 0xC5 not 0x5C?)
The purpose is an examination of board implementation.
Best regards,
Daisuke
Hi Daisuke,
Sorry, I meant to say you cannot write to reserved register. You can read from the reserved register for your examination to see if I2C communication is working.
Thanks,
Rajan
