TPS25810 - CC1 and CC2 port

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25810, TPS25810EVM-745

Hi all

Would you minf if we ask TPS25810?

Do CC1 and CC2 have reverse protection?
We can't find it on the datasheet.

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • The datasheet is currently getting updated. When it is complete it will have an updated section for ESD Ratings as shown here.

    ESD Ratings

    VALUE

    UNIT

    V(ESD)(1)

    Electrostatic discharge

    Human-body model (HBM), per ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001(2)

    ±2,000

Charged-device model (CDM), per JEDEC specification JESD22-C101(3)

    IEC61000-4-2 air discharge, CC1 and CC2

    ±15,000

    (1)     Electrostatic discharge (ESD) to measure device sensitivity/immunity to damage caused by assembly line electrostatic discharges into the device.

    (2)     JEDEC document JEP155 states that 500-V HBM allows safe manufacturing with a standard ESD control process.

    (3)     JEDEC document JEP157 states that 250-V HBM allows safe manufacturing with a standard ESD control process.

    (4)     Surges per IEC61000-402, 1999 applied between CC1/CC2 and output ground of the TPS25810EVM-745

    Thank you for your reply.

And, we are sorry that our explanation is not enough.

"Do CC1 and CC2 have reverse protection?"
->This means whether CC1 and CC2 have reverse protection for current or not.
So, as abnormal situation,  if IN2 is not supplied, CC1 and CC2 are supplied the voltage, is it not problem?

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • As long as IN2 is under UVLO the internal fet will remain in the off state and no current will flow in reverse direction into IN2.
