TSU6721 UART_IO

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSU6721

Can you please confirm for me that the recommended UART maximum voltage for the TSU6721 is actually 2.7V as stated in the Recommended Operating Conditions table in the datasheet (UART_I/O). Why can't this support VDDIO (3.6V max) as the USB_I/O does? This will be an issue for our design.

  • Tom,

I'm seeing on pg10 of the datasheet where RON for RxD is specified, the conditions are VI = 0 to 3.6V.   I do see on pg6 where UART_I/O is shown as 0 - 2.7V, as well the same is shown on pg10 under the Vuartio range, so I'm not sure why the test conditions specify 3.6V.  I'm not seeing anything in the EVM User Guide, either. Need to look into this in more detail . .

  • Tom,

Thank you for catching our error. I checked with our design team and the recommend UART I/O voltage of 2.7 V is incorrect in the datasheet. The UART I/O voltage can be the same as the USB I/O voltage 3.6 V.

    Thank you,
    Adam
