Hello,

Customer use sn65hvd256 but the silent mode has 2.5mA power consumption that is still higher to customer.

Do we have lower power consumption or auto power down CAN to customer? if I/O Voltage Range Supports 3.3-V and 5-V MCUs, it will be more better. Thank you.

Hi Patrick,

The current consumption is not lower in "silent" mode since the receiver is still active. To reduce current further, it would be good to pick a transceiver with "standby" mode instead. For example, the TCAN1042 family (www.ti.com/.../TCAN1042HGV) has a standby mode that reduces the current consumption to 0.5 uA (typical) on VCC and 12 uA (typical) from the I/O supply voltage (i.e., the MCU power rail). Note that the devices in this family with a "V" suffix can support either 5-V or 3.3-V I/O levels.

Yes, the device has RTMed. Both catalog and automotive (-Q1) versions are available. Let me know if you need any help.
