TX and RX Behavior for TLK2501

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK2501

Dear Technical Support Team,

I have some questions for TLK2501.

【Connection

Optical Device RX(Capped or receives optical signal) ⇒ TLK2501 RX(DINRXP/ DINRXN)

TLK2501 TX(DOUTTXP, DOUTTXR) ⇒ Optical Device TX

Optical device RX has cap(No Optical signal). In this situation, TLK2501 send TX data to the optical Device, then the optical Device detects CRC Error.

If optical device RX receives optical signal, then CRC error doesn't cause on TX side of optical device.

【Debug Information

(1)No optical signal(RX)

RX_DV/LOS High LevelRX_ERtoggling High or Low level after power like following.

I think it should causes just High level of RX_ER, but causes Low level frequently.

In other words, RX Error and Normal Operation causes repeatedly like following waveform.

  ■RX_ERR Waveform■

DINRXP and DINRXN receives 550mVp-p differential signal like following.

This differential Voltage signal is input from power on.

(2While receiving optical signal(RX)

  RX_DV/LOSLow levelRX_ERLow level

    Idle statementexpected operation

DINRXP and DINRXN receives 1.8Vp-p differential signal

    →TLK2501 operates correctly.

【Questions

1.)

RX_ERR causes toggling like High or Low. Do these RX_Err effect TX serdes operation like TX data error?

2.)

DINRXP, DINRXN got 550mVp-p differential voltage, does it cause RX_ER toggling behavior like waveform?

Is it expected behavior for TLK2501?

Best Regards,
