TLK105L - TXD3 Pulldown in RMII Mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK105L

Hi Team,

I'm looking at a couple of our reference schematics included in documentation about the TLK1xx devices and see some inconsistency with regard to TXD3 in RMII mode. I'm specifically interested in the TLK105L because it is the device I'm working with.

In two of the documents TXD3 is shown with an optional pull down (2.2k resistor) and a note that says "MUST BE CONNECTED WHEN WORKING IN RMII MODE." This shows up in SLLU185 on page 8 and SLVA531A page 27. I have attached highlighted screenshots of what I'm referring to.

However, it isn't mentioned or shown in SLLU200 (TLK10xL EVM User Guide) or the general datasheet for the TLK10xL devices. As far as I understand, TXD3 doesn't need to be connected to anything when in RMII mode and the pin that TXD3 is on isn't used in boostrap configuration.

Is there a reason TXD3 would need to be pulled down or can I leave this off of my schematic?

Thank you,

Ben
