SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 differential output signal rise time

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA1040A-Q1

I would like to confirm the rise time (tr, datasheet page 7) for SN65HVDA1040A-Q1.

The customer wants the minimum and maximum value of it.

Coiuld you please provide them by the actual data or the estimation?

I know it is not specified, so I don't need the guarantee for them.

We need the value (like +/- 10%, +5%/-10% and so on).

Best regards,

Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Hello Yamauchi-san,

I'm unable to find any parametric characterization data that was collected on this parameter, unfortunately. Would it be alright with you if we set up a measurement with a few different units and measured the rise/fall times for different temperature/voltage corners to show how this parameter varies?

Also, I would be interested to hear more about the customer and their application. Maybe you could send me the information privately?

    Thank you,
    Max
  • Dear Max-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

If you want the detail of the project, could you please teach your mail address?

The project is for Cluster and this request is from OEM.

So, they want the data as soon as possible.

Could you please help it for me?

    Best regards,

    Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Yamauchi-san,

Yes, as long as you think our measurement plan is OK we will go ahead and set it up. We should have the measurements ready by the end of next week. (It will take us a few days to get the parts because we don't have any in our lab currently.)

    My e-mail address is m-robertson(at)ti(dot)com.

    Regards,
    Max
  • Yamauchi-san,

We have received the units and completed this measurement.  Please see the attached summary.

    HVDA1040A_rise_fall_time.xlsx

This data was taken following the measurement set-up defined in the device's datasheet.  Note that rise and fall times will vary with different loading conditions (i.e., resistance and capacitance of the CAN bus).

Please let me know if you need any additional info.

    Best regards,
    Max
