TLK1201 external PRBS loopback

Hello there!

I have a question about TLK1201 Ethernet transciever. It has an internal PRBS generator so I'd like to use it to test the device and a link. In the datasheet I've found information that I can connect TX output to a bit error rate tester or to the reciever of another TLK1201.

So the question: Is it possible to connect TX with RX of the same device and to orginize external PRBS loopback?

Hi Aleksey,

This is possible, connecting the TX with the RX in the same device and use an external PRBS loopback, since, the PRBS generator is enabled to allow the SYNC/PASS can reflects the result of the test and LOOPEN is disabled to stop the internal loopback from the TX to RX.
