Data sheet mismatching in HD3SS6126 part and HD3SS6126EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS6126EVM, HD3SS6126

Hi all,

I am working on usb 3.0 2:1 Mux ,  part no is HD3SS6126. It has on evaluation board which part no is HD3SS6126EVM.

There is pin mismatching in part data sheet and evaluation board reference design.

In Datasheet  see the page no 3 and In reference design of evaluation board document see the page no 5.

In reference design                  Pin 3 SEL1 ,          Pin 9 SEL0 ,            Pin 6 HS_OE0,            Pin 41 HS_OE1

In Datasheet                              Pin 3 NC                Pin 9 SEL ,              Pin 6 HS_OE,               Pin 41 NC

which one is correct datasheet or reference design ?

and what is the logic of  two SEL0,SEL1 pin and same as two  HS_OE0 ,HS_OE1 ?

Reference design Note :

Thanks,

  • Hello Sanepara,

    The EVM was originally designed to support more devices, that's why the discrepancy between documents, please handle the SE! & HE_OE1 configurations as useless / NC and follow the DS configurations.

    Regards,
    Diego.
  • Hi Diego,

    Thanks for your reply.
    Can we have reference design of same part no ' HD3SS6126 '.

    Please send me if you have it.

    Thanks
    Warm Regards,
    Hardik Sanepara
  • Hello Sanepara,

    That's the only reference design we have, as I mentioned you only have to handle the NC signals as not connected. That's it.

    Regards,
    Diego.
  • Hi Diego,

    I wanted to know about usb3.0 connection diagram.

    which one is right let me know ?

    diagram (a)

    usb 3.0           <---->              usb 3.0

     DM           ----------------------> DM

    DP           ---------------------->  DP

    SSRX-     ---------------------->   SSRX-

    SSRX+    ---------------------->   SSRX+

    SSTX-     ---------------------->   SSTX-

    SSTX+    ---------------------->   SSTX+

    diagram (b)

    usb3.0             <----->           usb 3.0

    DM           ----------------------> DM

    DP           ---------------------->  DP

    SSRX-     <----------------------   SSTX-

    SSRX+    <----------------------   SSTX+

    SSTX-     ---------------------->   SSRX-

    SSTX+    ---------------------->   SSRX+

    diagram b is use in reference design of HD36SS6126EVM.

    i am little bit confuse about usb3.0 to usb3.0 connection diagram.

    Please send me your opinion about this problem.

    warm regards,

    hardik sanepara

  • Hello Hardik,

        The connection diagram B is the correct one. The TX differential pair from a Host/Hub must be connected to the Device's RX differential pair, as welll as the RX differential pair from a Host/Hub must be connected to the Device's TX differential pair. Also the polarity inversion is allowed by USB specification (RX+ can be connected to TX- and vice versa).

        Please remember that the HD36SS6126 is a passive switch, so the signal flows freely from one side to the other side of the switch as described by the datasheet, section 7.

    Best regards,

    Diego.
