ds250df810 retimer bandwidth

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS250DF810

Hi ,

I would like to ask a question regarding to the ds250df810 retimer.

The datasheet states that Each channel of the DS250DF810 independently locks to serial data rates in a continuous range from 20.6 Gbps to 25.8 Gbps or to any supported sub-rate (÷2 and ÷4), including key data rates such as 10.3125 Gbps and 12.5 Gbps, which allows the DS250DF810 to support individual lane Forward Error Correction (FEC) pass-through.

My plan is to use the ds250df810 retimer between an FPGA and an SFP+ connector. The transceivers of the FPGA, support 16.3Gb/s.

My question is: does the retimer supports the 16.3 Gb/s bandwidth?

Thank you!

  • Hi,

Our DS250DF810 unfortunately does not support 16.3 Gbps in retimed mode. As you highlighted we cover 20.6Gbps to 25.8Gbps in full rate. The half rate translates to 10.3Gbps to 12.9Gbps, thus 16.3Gbps is not covered.
