TUSB9261 Follow-up question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9261

For their applications the TUSB921 will need codes for programming the SPI flash otherwise it will not work. If TI does not provide that, where can we get the code?

  • We do provide it, it is available for download at the TUSB9261 web page under the "Tools and Software" Section.
You also have to download the Flash Burner tool in order to download the firmware from your PC to the EEPROM.
There is also a user's guide, go to link below.
What we don't provide is the source code of the firmware.

  • Please assist with the customer's following questions

    1. If we are not going to use GPIO and do not need to run the ARM processor. Can the device operate without firmware?

    2. If we want to create C program and generate code to run the ARM processor, where can we find document about programming?

    3. To download firmware, should we use JTAG port, or SPI or UART port?

    4. Does it need special download tool?

  • Hello,
    1. No, the TUSB9261 must have a firmware so it can work.
    2. I don't understand, what do you mean by "run the ARM processor" ?
    3. The firmware is stored in a SPI EEPROM, then the TUSB9261 will load the firmware from the SPI.
    4. Yes, you can find a windows tool used to program the firmware into the SPI so the TUSB9261 can then read it from there, the programming is done through USB, you can also find a user's guide at the link below.
