Auto power down for MAX3243CDBR & TRS3243ECDBR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3243E, TRS3243E

Hello,

Customer test auto power down function for MAX3243CDBR & TRS3243ECDBR .  TRS3243ECDBR  test pass but MAX3243CDBR  test fail.

Could we know what is the major difference between TRS3243ECDBR  and MAX3243CDBR  ? Thank you.

BR

Patrick

  • Patrick,

The difference is "E" immediately after the part number. The "E" means greater ESD protection, IEC 61000-4-2 rating.
TRS or MAX prefix does not mean anything.
To auto power down, FORCEOFF must be high, FORCEON must be low, and all receivers must be within 300mV of ground.

Please describe fail in more detail.
  • Thanks Ronald. The fail is one receiver enter auto power down but another receiver couldn't receive RS232 signal by MAX3243E. But while use TRS3243E, the same condition to enter auto power down but anther receive could receive RS232 signal.

Has any comments for this phenomenon? What is difference of auto power mode between two parts. Thank you.

    BR
    Patrick
