Hello Team,

Our customer is trying to acquire Eye pattern using EyeScan Tool. CDR is locked, however, scanned eye pattern is very bad that it does not have open eye. Do you need any register setting for DP159 to use the Eye scan function correctly ?

They are using DP159 as a DisplayPort retimer.

Hello Kawai-san,

Eyescan is working, but it does have that bug with invalid values in the middle of the eye for the existing production silicon running > 3.4 Gbps. The eyes shown in the attachment look good.

Do you mean that current version of the EyeScan Tool does not support 5.4Gbps signal eye monitoring ?

When is the final EyeScan Tool planned to be released officially ?

Hello Kawai-san,

Actually, there is a bug with the EyeScan results, the eyes will be invalid in the center. This will be addressed in the next gen of silicon.

Hi Joel-san,

Thank you for the information. I understood that the device does not fully support EyeScan (Eye monitor) function.
I am also understanding that the datasheet does not states it supports eye monitoring.

I have another question regarding above information. How about TMDS181 ?

I am confused by this thread. Is the eyescan tool available when using the DP159 as a DP-in, DP-out retimer as described in slla358?

Hi Lance,

EyeScan tool give you access to internal register, you should be able to configure DP159 in x-mode following the application note DP159 as DP retimer.
