Hi Team,

Is there absolute maximum ratings of appling external voltage for output pin?
My customer wants to know if applying 5V to 1Y(14 pin) or 1Z(13 pin) could damage the device.
I heard he mistaked to apply 5V to output pin.

No, I heard it is different from that is used for VCC.

Kensuke-san,

If the output pin is programmed to be high then there won't be any stress to the SN751178.

If the output pin is programmed to be low then there will be high stress to the SN751178.
The current is limited but the dissipated power will overheat the device.
