TPL0102 some question

Hello,

Our customer uses the TPL0102, has some question.

1) How about the condition of the H,L and W when the power off?

short? open? or must not apply voltage to H,L and W while the device power off?

2)How long does it take from change the resister to change the TAP?

3)The customer does not use I2C after the configuration fix.

Is it recommend to pull up the SCL,SDA  terminal?

Regards,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Hi Naoki,

Thanks for the question. Here are my responses (in Green) below:

1.How about the condition of the H,L and W when the power off?

When there is no power to the device , the state of the W pin is unknown. It's possible that it will be high z or shorted. With that being said, we recommend that you do not supply power to these pins during power off.

    2. How long does it take from change the resister to change the TAP?

In the Electrical Characteristics page of TPL0102 (Page 5)  the spec for wiper setting time, tsw, is specified as 3.6us.

3)The customer does not use I2C after the configuration fix.

Is it recommend to pull up the SCL,SDA  terminal?

We recommend that the I2C bus (SCL & SDA) are pulled up in every application. Please refer to the following application report which details the proper pullup resistor calculation for the I2C bus.

    Thanks,

    Siby

  • Hi Siby,

    Thank you for your reply.
I will suggest the customer not to supply power to the H,L and W pin
    during power off.

    Thanks,
