USB Type-C CC Pin Logic

Hello,

We have used (HD3SS3212RKS) and (TUSB321RWB) part in our existing design for USB Type-C.

Now for the current design we plan to NO-MOUNT the (TUSB321RWB) part.

But we are retaining the ((HD3SS3212RKS) MUX part , the question here is previously we control the (HD3SS3212RKS) MUX SEL (Selection) using the DIR output pin of the (TUSB321RWB) part , Now we don't have the part.

Is there any way can control the MUX SEL (Selection) logic externally using simple logic ? We Just need it for cable swap.

Hello Antony,

If you remove the CC controller the design won't be USB compliant, now the CC logic control depends on the port Role (DFP, UFP or DRP). Please follow the Type-C specification to determine how will you implement the control logic for cable swap.
