DS92LV0421 and DS92LV0422 MIPI support?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS92LV0422, DS92LV0421, DS90UB940-Q1, DS90UR910-Q1

Hello,

We need to serialize a MIPI interface and then de-serialize on the other end.  The interface for the DS92LV0421 and DS92LV0422 look like they might do MIPI, but I can't find that information anywhere.  Will that work, or is there another device that would?

Thank you!

  • Hi Jamaal,

The DS92LV0421/22 chipset does not support MIPI. This is because the MIPI interface requires a lot more processing overhead before the data is ready to transmit. The same is required in order to receive and deserialize MIPI data. This is different from OpenLDI, where the data is simply serialized and sent out without additional processing overhead.

The ICs that support MIPI are ones in our portfolio that explicitly state support for MIPI CSI-2, and the only ones I am aware of are FPD-Link II and III products supported by our sister automotive SerDes product group in TI. The parts I am thinking of are the DS90UR910-Q1 and the DS90UB940-Q1. These are both deserializers. I am not aware of a MIPI serializer device currently available in our portoflio, though there may be new IC designs to support CSI-2 in the pipeline for this group.

    Regards,

    Michael
  • Are you able to use the DS90UR910-Q1 and the DS90UB940-Q1 in this design?
