We're looking to use either of the above parts in a low volume embedded application.
Currently our manufacturing operation are requesting that we source an alternate part as the devices are MSL4 rated, and due to our volumes we wish to remain at MSL 3 or better.
I notice that a most of the non -EP range parts are MSL3 or better and I wondered why these parts (and the -HT variants as well) which are likely to be used in lower volume products, are MSL4.
I noticed the package is an HTQFP rather than an LQFP but what about this package style has resulted in the MSL rating being worse.
