Enabling billboarding function of TPS65982 on config tool

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS6598X-CONFIG, TPS65982

Team,

Am I having a right settings to enable the billboarding function of config tool?

It is not recognized on Windows10 NB and no responses at all.

thanks,

Andrew

  • Andrew,

Now would be a good time to download the newest TPS6598X-CONFIG config tool and get familiar with the new Format.

The TPS65983 and TPS65982 have different selections available in the GUI, but they are all using the same format now.

When you use the latest TPS6598X-CONFIG config tool, you will also have a newer FW image (either 1.9 or 1.11), whereas the old Config Tool stops at 1.7.6

Please try to make a habit of attaching your .bin and .json files to every post so we can verify the Version # and other selections, not just Billboarding.
  • Brian,

does new tool support old json file?

how can I re-load old setting to new tool?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • Andrew,

Have you tried using the method outlined in the latest App Note on the new TPS6598X-CONFIG config Tool?

Page 9, Section 3.3: 3 Importing Configuration Settings from a TPS6598x gives step by step directions on how to read the settings from a TPS65982 device and import the configurations.

This is different than importing a .json file, which uses JavaScript in the 1.xx versions of the discontinued Config Tool, but it should work to get you going on the new 2.xx version of the Tool.
