Hi,

How TCA6408A is put in its standby mode? By keeping the RESET pin low? I didn't find anything about this in the datasheet.

Section 6.5 of the datasheet shows that in standby mode, the RESET pin can have either level.

Standby mode means that there is no I²C communication happening, i.e., there is no activity on SCL.

Thanks for your answer. Got it. Then what would happen to the I/Os. For example if they are output, will they be functional in the standby mode?

"Standby" just means "no I²C is currently happening". The I/Os are not affected.

Hi Vala, Clemens,

This is correct.

Standby mode means that there is no I2C communication occuring at the time. This has nothing to do with the RESET pin being low or high.
