Hi,

Let me confirm the usage of "EN(5pin)" of TCA9517.

I think EN pin is pulled up to VccB device internally.

That is to say, when we always use TCA9517 as active, we can leave EN pin open, correct?

Of course, it is also no problem to pull-up EN by external resisiter.

Will you tell me your advice?

Hi Takumi,

This is correct in that EN is pulled up to VCCB internally. It should be fine to leave this EN pin open due to the internal pull up. Also, there is no problem with pullup by external resistor.

Hello Siby,

For easy layout I have a TCA9517 question .

Since SCL SDA is same circuit in function block can I swap to use it as below ?

Hi Sam,

I cannot see the image you're referring to. I believe you're referring to swapping the SCL/SDA lines since they are the same internal circuit? If this is the case, please maintain layout of your SCL and SDA lines and do not swap them. Your clock signal will continuously move from high to low, while your SDA will be dependent on the data you are sending.

Also, please refer to the layout guidelines in the datasheet.

OK , I will not to swap I2C pin by your commend. also I will refer the layout guide from datasheet.

but I don't know the reason ?do you mean even the function block is same but the circuit is different of SCL and SDA in TCA9517?

Hi Sam,

They are the same internally, however, we do not recommend making this swap as the datasheet shows through pin out.
