PCA9306 driving current

Hi team,

If we follow the Fig. 8 Typical Application Circuit.

How much is the value of driving current at EN and Vref2 pins?

Thanks.

Prescott

  • Hello Prescott,

    Due to the design of the device, the required drive current of the enable source is the following:

    I = (V_EN_Source - (Vref1 + 0.7 V))/200k

    So for the example values shown in the datasheet:

    Vref1 = 1.8 V

    V_EN_Source = 3.3 V (The voltage of the source connected to the EN/VREF2 pins, which should ideally be the same voltage as VDPU)

    [3.3 V - (2.5 V)] / 200k = 4 uA
