Hi,
When using SN75DP130 in a sink application is recommended to configure it via I2C, using link training could result in inappropriate configuration of DP130.
Yes DP159 has better performance. DP159 is intended for DP++ to HDMI2.0 level translation, there is a special mode where you could use it as DP retimer.
You may try a fixed configuration of DP130 first, if this is not enough move to DP159.

hi ,Moises Garcia
1. The DP159 device supports 4K x 2K @60Hz 10/12bit color depth ? or only support 8bit color depth at 4K x 2K @60Hz?
2.The DP130 plan to upgrade the performance in the future?
thanks!!!
Hi Doph,
DP130 and DP159(x-mode) support the same data rate up to 5.4Gbps
To have 4k2k@60Hz 10/12bit you need DP1.3 to use data rates faster than 5.4Gbps,
Currently we have SN65DP141 for DP1.3

Hi, Moises
thanks for your answer !
In the DP159 datasheet ,“When working as a retimer, the embedded clock data recovery (CDR) cleans up the input high frequency and random jitter from video source” .
But DP130/DP141 is not the retimer.
Do you have any other chip recommended in the DisplayPort receiver application, not only supports 4K x 2K @60Hz 10/12bit color depth ,but also cleans up the input high frequency similar as the DP159's retimer ? because I must use Xilinx gtx.
thanks !!!
Hi Doph,
You could try DP159, this is the application note to use it as a DP retimer(x mode).
