Interfacing LVDS LCD to SITARA 5728

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C385A, AM5728

Hi All,

I need to know a way to  interface LVDS LCD display to Sitara 5728 DPi Interface. There are solutions like DS90C385A. But it seems they only supports 4:3 displays. Don't they support 16:9 display resolutions?

thank you

  • Hi Hasith,

The DPI video output from the Sitara AM5728 look like regular LVCMOS RGB parallel outputs, and these are certainly signal levels that the DS90C385A Tx can receive. To determine compatibility, the question is not so much about the aspect ratio as it is the required pixel clock frequency. If your pixel clock frequency you plan to use is within the acceptable PLL range specified by the DS90C385A (18-87.5 MHz), then you should be able to interface the Sitara device with the DS90C385A.

    Thanks,

    Michael
