XIO3130

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO3130

Hello! Tell me please, can connect to the PCIe module COMe with your switch XIO3130 two Intel I200 controllers? Thank you.

  • Hi,

I have moved your post to the Consumer & Computing Forum so that it gets visibility from the experts for this product.

  • Hello,
There should not be any issue, can you provide more details about your implementation and a block diagram?
    Regards
  • Ethernet module contains Switch XIO3130, connected to the PCIe MainBoard (port P0)
Two Intel I210 controller connected to the ports P1 and P2 of the switch.

    Questions:

    1. Is it possible to connect Switch XIO3130, which only supports PCIe 1.1, to the Intel I210 controller that supports PCIe 2.1?
    2. Is it possible to see Ethernet controller ICs in the UEFI shell for firmware flashing?
    3. Is it necessary to load the configuration from EEPROM for the Switch XIO3130 to start the exchange with Intel I210 controller over PCIe bus?
    4. What software is required to implement this configuration?

  • Hello,
First of all, the XIO3130 is a fanout switch and it requires a PCIe Host on its upstream connection,it is not reversible.

    1) Yes, the PCIe2.1 devices should be backwards compatible.
    2) I would say yes, the XIO3130 is accessible from the UEFI
    3) The external EEPROM is not mandatory, the XIO3130 is fully operational without the eeprom.
    4) We can provide a windows based tool used to program an attached eeprom via the XIO3130.
