TCA8424 EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA8424

Hi Sir,

Sorry to bother you.

We have question at TCA8424EVM

    1. Is TCA8424 EVM have include default firmware?? If yes, is passable to change others I2C address?? I'm sure we don't have burn any firmware

    2. The EVM will work after burn Firmware?? or we don't need burn Firmware ??

    3. Is possible to provide verify command for us (read and write)??  Because for now we follow datasheet to write 0x0402, we think we'll get 0xA2, but we

saw the 0x00 actually . It's different the datasheet.

    4. We only have TCA8424EVM, Looks we also need TI launch pad. Right ??

Thanks for your reply

  • Hi Shu,

No problem, glad to assist with your question.

        1. Is TCA8424 EVM have include default firmware?? If yes, is passable to change others I2C address?? I'm sure we don't have burn any firmware

The TCA8424 EVM includes default firmware for the MSP430. Please take a look at the "Tools and Software" section in the product folder below. This will lead you to the GUI and software folder.

        2. The EVM will work after burn Firmware?? or we don't need burn Firmware ??

You will need the firmware for the MSP430 to work with the EVM.

        3. Is possible to provide verify command for us (read and write)??  Because for now we follow datasheet to write 0x0402, we think we'll get 0xA2, but we

saw the 0x00 actually . It's different the datasheet.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide support for firmware examples. In the past, I've seen that the 0402h register will read 0x00, but this is because that the contents of the registers will vary from devices. There is a note in the datasheet which states this.

        4. We only have TCA8424EVM, Looks we also need TI launch pad. Right ??

You will need the MSP430 launchpad to work with this EVM.

    Thanks,

    Siby
