SN65DSI84 DSI Tuner results

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI84

Hello,

Our customer uses the SN65DSI84.

The signal of the customer is below.

 DSI 4Lane  , MIPI CLK is 432MHz

 LVDS 8Lane , LVDS CLK is 36MHz

 VIDEO resolution : 1430 x 840   Frame rate : 60fps

The customer used the DSI Tuner. The result is no error and the customer got  a CSR List.

Is it correct? I think MIPI CLK is too much fast.

  • Hello Naoki,

Is the customer using burst or non-burst video mode?

In non burst mode, the DSI CLK = minimum DSI CLK frequency required to sample in the line worth of data.

The DSI CLK is faster in burst mode. If this the their case then the 432Mhz will be correct.

Whether the CPU provides the data in non burst or burst mode, the device configuration does not change other than the CLK related settings.

The burst mode only means data is provided in burst manner then the rest of the line period can be filled in LP11 which is the low power state in the DPHY definition.  During the low power state, the HS Tranceiver/receiver can be disabled to save power.

Here’s an excerpt from the DSI spec:

  • Hello Joel,

    Thank you for your reply.
Yes, the customer uses the SN65DSI84 in burst mode.
Then I understood the 432MHz is correct.

    Thanks,
