Hi,

Our customer is asking about the connection for Display port (Alternative mode).

In case of DP Alt Mode, C_SBU1/2 is connected to AUX_P/N. We have questions about switching behavior.

Q1. After 'DP configure' has been done, MUX1 and MUX2 is switched to C_SBU1/2 and AUX_P/N. Is this correct ? (See below figure)

Q2. Before DP configure has been done, MUX1 is open and 1MΩ min resistor is appeared on the C_SBU1/2 line. Is this correct ? (See below figure)

Sorry, it seems that the picture was not uploaded. The fiugure 1 is corresponding with Q1, figure 2 is corresponding with Q2.

Yes, your understanding is correct.

In order to be compliant with the VESA DisplayPort (DP) Alternate Mode for USB PD requirements, the TPS65982 must have SBU1/.2 in Hi-Z state until the "Enter" command is issued to enter the DP Alt Mode.

Is 1M ohm resister included (integrated) on TPS65982 device?

Hi Brian-san,

Sorry, it is described in datasheet. This pull down is integrated, and specified as R_SBU_OPEN.

Fukui-san,

Technically, R_SBU_OPEN is the series resistance of the Mux path looking in to SBU1/2 when the switch is open.

The "pull-down" resistance would be R_SBU_OPEN + the resistance to GND through the AUX_P/N path, but it will always be >1M-Ohm
