TUSB320 EN_N control

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320, TUSB320HI, TUSB320HAI

Hi,

I have one question, please help. Thanks.

My customer want to use GPIO to control EN_N.

1. In DFP mode, the VBUS have voltage after CC communicate.

If the schematic is as below picture, the DFP would not work! beceuse EN_N always high (Pulled up to VDD internally).

If I change USB2_VBUS_C to an always on power, the DFP is work.

I wonder to know how to enter shutdown mode if I need to support DFP?

If EN_N pin is tied to GND, how can this pin be high to enter shutdown mod?

The spec says "The TUSB320 device can enter shutdown mode by pulling the EN_N pin high, which puts the TUSB320 device
into a low power state. In this case, external control of the EN_N pin is not implemented and therefore the EN_N
pin is tied to GND." I do not really know what is this mean.

  • Hello,

I don't understand your questions, the TUSB320 can operate on DFP mode just by PORT=H, the device is in shutdown mode when EN_N=High. Also please notice that we have two enable active high versions which are the TUSB320HI an the TUSB320HAI.

    Regards,

    Diego.
