TUSB926x command line flashing tool

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9261, TUSB9260

I'm having difficulties flashing the firmware on a TUSB9261 custom board with the flashburner tool.

I can't get bootloader driver to install under win7 64bits, and we don't have any XP machines anymore.

Also, we need to automate the flashing process, so a command line tool or source code would be welcome.

Linux would be best, but Win 7 or newer is manageable.

Thanks.

Chris.

  • Hello Christopher,

I believe you are not able to install the driver on a x64 bits because the driver is not a signed driver, could you please try starting the system on "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode? if the problem is till present could you please send us what are you seeing on the Device Manager?

Please note that we don't recommend to use the tools in a production environment since they are only for testing porpoises. exist some industrial programmers that can program the EEPROM before to be assembled and could help you to automatize the process.

Also we have a command line that can help you, could you please provide a email contact?

    Regards.
    Roberto.
  • I modified system policy to ignore driver signing and also tried putting win7 in test mode, to no avail.
I have other unsigned drivers running, so I don't think it is the issue.

When I try to force the use of the driver in the burner folder, windows says "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems."

Device is shown as "TUSB9260 Boot Loader" with the yellow exclamation mark.
Simple "Update driver software" can't find a suitable driver automatically or manually locating the files.

The device is USB\VID_0451&PID_926B&MI_01 but note that the actual IC is a TUSB9261 (not TUSB9260)
(I also see an extra USB Composite Device enumerated)

We have special requirements with the serial number that must be customized to link it with other hardware on the board.
So it is difficult to pre-program the ICs without knowing on which boad they will go.

My email is clr -on the domain- mikrosimage.eu

    Thanks !

    Chris.
  • In the meantime, I installed XP in a virtual box and managed to flash the FW that way.
    Still, it's not very convenient...

  • Hello Christopher,

Please verify that you are selecting the correct device when you run the installer just to avoid any unexpected behavior, also I sent to your e-mail the command-line tool.

    Regards, Roberto.
