Air condition smart remote project



I'm doing a project to enhance the air cont remote functionality.

It will need a room temp sensor to detect current room temp.

User who switched on the air cont with pre-set required room temp via the remote will be capture by the this smart device.

It will compare the temp different (between current room & user required) and reset the air con required temp let say 3°C below current room temperature.

If room temp reached the reset  temp the device will lower the preset temp 1°C from the last reset temp until reaching the used initial required temp. if the air con unit is capable off.

If at any point the room temp can't be lower down to the requires temperature, the device will set 1°C above the last achievable temp.

By doing so the air-con compressor will not be over-loaded and also prevent ice formation on cooling coil and messy "flooding" when the compressor trip with thick ice formation on the cooling coil.

I need advice on components to be used to make this device work.

It should include a IR reader and transmitter fix near to the blower unit's sensor to capture the temp setting and relay it to the smart device.

The smart device will be connected to something like SHT21 temperature sensor and able to compute the correct temp setting and transmit to the air con blower unit.

Hope experts out there can give me some advises on what component to get & how to connect for me to complete this task......
